How many books have you read in English and what where they? I've read - "The Briget Jones Diary" (funny, very funny, even more than the movie  )
"Gone with the wind" (it was the thickest book I've ever read in English! But it was amazing! I wanted to find "Scarlett" in English but failed  )
"Sense and sensibility" (I watched a movie in English too) "Pride and prejudice" "Jane Eyre" |

Our tastes are similar:) I adore Jane Ostin. Read many of her books in the original. Looked films in English:Sense and sensibility" and "Pride and prejudice" (Serial and the last year's movie version)

If you want, I can give you DVD with a film. I bought to myself, but russian translation there such disgusting, that I have put myself the English version for not spoiling impression of film

aha.... you can't imagine my astonishment  because it's not player - it's home-theatre system with many different options - and to my great surprise and disappointment there's such problem

Excuse me, ladies, I just couldn't pass it by. Неопытная - there are DVD-R and DVD-RW discs. Most (if not all) centers support DVD-R and some relatively old don't support DVD-RW. Check again the specs. Free English learning stuff - hhttp://www.englspace.com/dl/dl.shtml I wish I could lend you my movies but I live quite a far away. BTW my wife learns to pick up words listening to Frank Sinatra's songs (his lyrics is easy to find). His prononciation is very good. Of course movies with English subtitles help a lot, too. If anybody is interested I can give the list of movies we both liked. |

The first book I read was “It” by King. It was many years ago…Then I read “It” in Russian ten years later and I was strongly impressed by my reckless impudence as King’s style is not for the English beginners  . Nowdays I prefer surfing American or English internet pages in search for information that covers my hobby interests to reading books in English.
